Hi BMSS families! Over the couple of years, we have worked really hard on the amphitheater space (with that amazing mural) & the playground area (Mindfulness garden, adding swings, working on the serpentine wall gardens).
Our next project is....the rooftop garden! Thanks to Mr. Hinrichs, he came up with a plan for the space to make it more usable, more beautiful, and a space that ALL students, staff and families can use! His 8th graders already got a lot done just in one day today (see pictures).
If you would like to donate any materials/supplies to help us make this happen, here is what we are hoping for:
Zinnia seeds
Tarp material to put down for the path (to put mulch over the top) and Zen/sand areas
bags of brown mulch
Bird bath
Plastic edging
Possible plants (we are looking for low maintenance, for full sun, and that will come back every year): Lavender plants, hostas, hydrangeas, ornamental grasses
Stepping stones
tree stumps for students to sit on
bags of sand (for the Zen garden area), stones, and rakes for Zen garden
